Project scope
This project focused on the complete redesign and implementation of the BIK web platform, serving both B2B and B2C products. Additionally, we designed three entirely new services tailored to the needs of SMEs and large corporate clients.
Beyond product design, user research, and discovery workshops with key stakeholders, I was responsible for independently designing and implementing the design system used across the entire BIK ecosystem.
To illustrate the scale of the work: the project spans over 20 Figma files and includes between 2,500 and 3,000 UI mockups covering a wide range of flows, edge cases, and user scenarios.

Project goals
The primary goal was to redesign and optimize all existing digital services offered by BIK, while also designing three completely new products. A significant challenge was building and implementing a unified design system to support the entire ecosystem across the organization.
Redesign and optimization of existing flows
Through continuous collaboration with stakeholders, workshops, and user research, we identified pain points and redesigned core processes to make them more intuitive, efficient, and aligned with user expectations.
New products for the SME sector
We designed three new B2B services tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises, helping businesses manage finances more effectively and streamline their operations with contractors.
Design system implementation and scaling
A fully custom design system was created and rolled out, reflecting BIK’s refreshed visual tone and built for long-term scalability across multiple teams and products.
Smarter cross-selling and brand communication
We introduced subtle, user-friendly cross-selling mechanisms that promote relevant services without overwhelming the user. In parallel, we designed a new marketing website for BIK combining product promotion with educational content around financial literacy and smart money management.
Challange
One of the biggest challenges in this project was managing the sheer scale and complexity of the BIK ecosystem – a multi-layered platform serving both B2B and B2C audiences with numerous services, use cases, and internal dependencies. Designing a cohesive, intuitive experience across such a wide range of user needs required a strategic design approach and tight collaboration across teams.
As a financial institution operating in a regulated environment, many design decisions had to be aligned with legal, compliance, and business teams. Navigating these constraints while advocating for user-centered solutions was a delicate process that involved workshops, prototypes, and constant iteration.
Another significant challenge was the implementation of a design system that would work across both legacy services and entirely new products. Ensuring adoption across teams required documentation, onboarding, and long-term thinking. In parallel, we worked to shift the organization’s mindset toward more user-centric processes, replacing fragmented, internal-driven flows with more intuitive, outcome-focused experiences.
Research
We combined local and international benchmarking with qualitative research to shape three new services and redesign existing ones. A strong focus was placed on accessibility standards, ensuring the platform works for both younger users and those with limited digital access.
Key Insights
Users are often overwhelmed by the structure and terminology used in financial services, especially when multiple roles (e.g., business owner, accountant, individual client) intersect. Simplification and progressive disclosure became key design principles.
In financial contexts, users expect transparency, predictable flows, and a sense of control, particularly in onboarding and sensitive data areas.
High accessibility expectations were reinforced both by user diversity and legal guidelines. Clear contrast, flexible type sizing, keyboard navigation, and screen reader support were essential from the start.
